2003-2006 Republican Congress Vs 2007-2010 Democrat Congress

Democrats keep talking about not wanting to go back to what we had. What we had, until just months after Democrats took control of congress, was low unemployment, rapidly decreasing deficits, soaring per capita disposable income and soaring revenues to the government–everything that makes an economy a total success. All along, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, the two Democrat banking leaders, threw overwhelming support behind Fannie and Freddie’s disastrous purchase of, what eventually became $5 trillion dollars worth of destructive, sub-prime mortgages. We shouldn’t go back to the beginning of the Frank-Dodd disaster, they’re right. Then came Barack!! So what’s happened since Barack Obama was elected. Barney and Chris enacted new legislation, completely ignoring the hundreds of billions more Fannie and Freddie have cost taxpayers, giving government, especially Frank and Dodd huge new powers to pass on infinitely more damage than what they’ve already done.

Unfortunately, it appears that just because Congress passes a law it does not mean that the problem is solved. In more case than not, the implementation of the law usually does not solve the issue or results in unintended consequences that result in additional problems beyond the original target of the law.
